Compass, SEQTA and the public website: a sane comms stack for Australian schools and RTOs
Parents should not have three sources of truth. How schools and RTOs should split the SIS, the LMS and the public site.
SIS for families, website for the public
Compass and SEQTA already message enrolled families. The public website is for enrolments, employment, policies you must publish, and people who are not logged in. Duplicating daily notices on the website guarantees they drift.
RTOs have a different job
aXcelerate (and similar SMS tools) hold USI, units and funding. The website must explain courses, fees and enrolment without pretending to be the student system. Forms should create a lead, not a second student record.
